Rock & Rap Fest 4 and AYP 2010
So…we, in our small town of Fairbanks, are blessed with two music festivals on the same day. I personally would have liked them to be on different weekends, BUT the fact that our town has so much musical talent that such a feat as this can occur is a good thing. So check out one or both of the festivals…both are sure to impress, let us know what you thought of them.

The 10th Annual Great Cover-Up @ the Pub
Just a quick note….to ANY bands out there. We’re having the 10th Great Cover-up at the Pub (*so yes 21+ only, all-ages will be on Halloween though*) and if you would like to get involved send an e-mail to:

If you’re unaware…the premise is your band will choose ONE band to cover and for the night Saturday, March 27th you BECOME that band! Dressing up n’ the like is all the more encouraged. We’ve had Nirvana, Anti-Flag, Stone Temple Pilots, Limp Bizkit, The Clash and so forth. It’s pretty much always amazing, amazing.
The only restriction is…you only have 20 minutes. All the greater to fill those 20 with grandure and bombastic-ic-ness, yes?
Mewithoutyou in Fairbanks:April 3rd
The indie connoisseurs Mewithoutyou are to play at UAF’s Wood Center Ballroom on April 3rd.
The band initially made a name for itself based off it’s aggressive approach to the Indie genre. A few albums later and we find Mewithoutyou still holding onto their own mix of Indie, but in place of outright anger and pure energy the band has placed strong folk elements into their music. The combination of both genres is a true sign of a band set to evolved and progress throughout the years to come.
Two local acts, yet to be named, will open for the boys.

Our goal here is to keep the people/communities of Fairbanks, Alaska informed and connected. We focus our energy upon the music scene here in town, but anything of the arts (plays, operas, big bands, improv comedy, poetry, etc.) we are more than happy to include.
